Dear friends and colleagues,
We have the honour of hosting The 8th Alpe-Adria Medical Physics Meeting which will take place from 25th to 27th May, 2017.
The success of the previous meetings leaves the organisers faced with a challenge on how to enhance the quality of each and every meeting and to ensure that it takes place on a regular basis.
The importance of such a meeting is paramount, particularly due to the fact that Alpe Adria region now consists of seven countries which allows us to share experiences and knowledge in various fields of medical physics.
This will be the opportunity to discuss the development of medical physics, current practice, to cooperate and go back to work empowered by knowledge and new contacts and to build foundation for future progress. Organizing Committee

*   N E W !   *   Abstract submission deadline extended!
We are excited by the large number of good quality abstracts that have been received so far. Thanks to those who have already submitted your abstracts and synopses.
Nevertheless, in order to increase the opportunity to share the latest developments within numerous topics in medical physics, we are pleased to extend the deadline for final abstract submission to Friday April 7, 2017.
*   N E W !   *   The Radiology and Oncology journal & AAMP Meeting 2017
Special section of the Radiology and Oncology journal will be dedicated to the AAMP Meeting 2017. Among indicated contributions, scientific committee will select up to five best abstracts. Full length manuscripts will be recommended for publishing in Radiology and Oncology special issue. Authors who are willing to submit manuscripts shall explicitly indicate this during the submission of the abstracts. Authors of the selected abstracts will be required to submit full length manuscript not later than three months after the AAMP conference. After the submission, manuscripts will be additionally reviewed by two referees. Radiology and Oncology is an open access journal and all articles are subject to 700 EUR + VAT publication fee.
Manuscripts have to be submitted according to the journal policy. Additional information can be found at www.radioloncol.com and www.degruyter.com.
Abstract of oral or poster presentation should be written in a form of short scientific paper following these rules:
Write your abstract as a MS Word file using Times New Roman 12 font size, with single line spacing.
Text (including: titles, authors, institutions and text body), should not exceed three MS word pages (a maximum of 10000 characters, incl. spaces).
The heading of the abstract should contain: title (in bold), full name of the authors, affiliation/institute (italics) and e-mail address of the corresponding author.
The body of the abstract should contain the following paragraphs, in the following order, in bold: Introduction, Materials and methods, Results, Discussion and References (with not more than 5 references) separating each reference with new line.
Figures, tables and captions should be on a separate pages (a maximum of 2 pages); in this case the abstract could have a maximum length of 5 pages.
The abstract must be attached as an MS Word file with the name of the first author and sent to the following address: email@example.com AND firstname.lastname@example.org
The size of the poster should be 90 cm by 120 cm, portrait orientation (paper).
The accompanying e-mail must specify the preferred type of presentation: oral or poster and should have the subject "AAMPM2017 - [title]", where [title] is the title of the submitted abstract.
All abstracts will be submitted to the Scientific Committee for review and approval, and subsequently selected for oral or poster sessions, depending on the scientific contents.
Scientific committee can exceptionally accept abstracts which will not follow required structure completely - e.g. contributions in a form of short review paper.
Abstract submission deadline March 17th 2017.
Alpe Adria Prize
The Alpe-Adria Prize is reserved for a Medical Physicist presenting his or her excellent accomplishments in the field of Medical Physics, as a young scientist (not older than 35).
The eligible candidates of the prize should send an e-mail to the address: email@example.com, specifying the following:
the name of the author,
age of the author,
working institution or place of study,
a short abstract of one recent, significant study concerning the applications of physics in medicine.
The Scientific Committee is going to select the two best papers and reward the winners of the prize.
Deadline to register for the Alpe-Adria Prize: April 14, 2017.
